Bauner was born and raised in the valleys of southwest Ohio. Music was a crucial part of his childhood because there were musicians on both sides of his family. In his early years his ears were fed the sounds of outlaw country artists such as David Allen Coe and Merle Haggard and southern rock bands like Lynyrd Skynyrd and The Allman Brothers Band. A guitar was put in his hands at 13 and it quickly consumed him and became his passion. Shortly after he picked up the guitar, he discovered blues music and fell in love with the sound of Stevie Ray Vaughn, Jimi Hendrix, Muddy Waters, and BB King. This shaped the way he played and held the guitar. As he began to get a little older, singing and songwriting became another escape for him. He now draws inspiration from artists/bands like John Mayer, Dave Matthews, Gov’t Mule, the Grateful Dead, and the Tedeschi Trucks Band.
